Hello, I am a retired fire fighter of 34.5 years. I started in 1983 as a volunteer and retired in 2017. During the course of my career I have worked as a Fire Specialist, a Fire Fighter, an Engineer, a Hazardouos Materials Specialist, an Acting Captain, a Captain, an Acting Management Captain (union), Management Captain (non-union) and Acting Battallion Chief. In these roles I have served as an Engine Boss, Division Supervisor, Group Supervisor and Incident Commander. In short I have hundreds of fires as well as other emergencies under my belt in a variety of roles. I am currently a Professor teaching Fire Technology at Cosumnes River College. I have worked with organizations as a consultant and trainer in the implimentation of sUAS platforms . I have given presentations and training on wildland fire fighting, hose deployment, bump and run techniques and sUAS use. I presented these various topics during “in service training” and at confences such as the Northern California Training Officers Conference, the HazMat Continuing Challenge, Fire Shows West and the Fresno Training Symposium. During the course of my career I have developed and implimented digital records and training methods before they were commonplace and a myriad of other interesting things to many to report here. Notable ,are my presence on many Oral Boards/Interviews for recruit evaluation and promotional exams. I am finsihed with my professional fire fighting career but like a famous astronaut teacher once said, “I touch the future, I teach.” Hopefully, I can “touch you future” and help you achive your goals so you can have a long, safe and fruitful career.
